A new report released Tuesday says the U.S. market for Iranian herbal products, as well as those produced by other Iranian companies, is growing at a rate that could exceed the $6 billion in annual sales of the United States’ leading producer of generic painkillers.
The report by the International Center for Science in the Americas (ICSA), a research institute based in Washington, D.C., and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, found that in the first half of 2017, the U:S.
produced about 5.7 billion milligrams of generic oxycodone, about 3.5 billion millibigrams for oxycodones sold by the generic drug company Johnson & Johnson, and about 1.4 billion millimix of generic acetaminophen.
The United States also produced more than 1.5 trillion millimics of generic opioids.
